We had the chance to catch up with Reco and ask him some questions. Here's how it went:

Where was the Music Video filmed? And who produced the Music Video?

The music video was filmed in different parts of the Nature Reserve and the Northern Meadows and also some parts at my home.

Where was the audio recorded for this song? And who produced the audio for the track? The audio was recorded by myself at my home. The beat was produced by InsaneBeatz.

How did your journey with music start?

When I was roughly 15/16 my mum read a piece in The Sprout paper about a local rapper called Jamie Feeney who was known at TooYoung at the time, now called Sapien, who was organising this event called Capital City Jam. There was also information about a youth group called Ministry of Life and contact details to contact them to go and have help with starting out as a music artist and help with lyrics writing, recording etc. Once I contacted them I met up with Joff, Zippy, Jamie, Cod, Tim and Arielle and from there my music just progressed.

What music are your listening to lately? I'm a massive Eminem fan so obviously I'm listening to Music to be Murdered the Deluxe Edition but also I find myself listening to NF. I feel his songs really resonate with me with issues such as mental health in his songs My Stress and Just Like You. Another artist I'm really enjoying listening to at the moment is The Kid Laroi. His voice and stage presence is second to none. Have you ever experienced writers block? If so how did you overcome it? I've experience writers block several times and have all been very different. The most recent was just before my latest release. Looking Around explains all the problems I was/am still going through recently and I was really trapped not being able to concentrate enough to write anything. I guess it was just trying to take a break and not think about it but also write down whatever I was thinking in my head. The moment I got over it. I remember walking down the shop and the start of which is now the first verse in Looking Around just popped into my head and I quickly wrote it down on my phone. So my advice would be just push on and take a break for a bit.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

That’s quite a tricky question because I like to show my versatility as an artist but if I were to describe it, I would say it's more emotional and about my life (on the majority of my songs). Who would you most like to collaborate with?

It has to be Eminem if it was someone famous. For me he is the GOAT and I don't think anyone can compare to him. It was a local artist/up and coming artist it would definitely have to be Brighty. His style is so unique and he creates incredible music. He is such a down to earth guy and really deserves all the credit that he currently gets. Which famous musicians do you admire?

Eminem as previously mentioned but also Professor Green. Not just what he does in music but also outside of it.

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

That’s a hard question again but if I had to pick one it would have to be from Joff at Ministry of Life. He said to never rush your music and to remember its quality over quantity which now I can really relate to and understand.

What one person in Hip-Hop/Rap that has inspired you the most? Why? Definitely Eminem. When I was younger I had OCD and found it really hard to get out of but I found that his song Not Afraid really inspired me to start believing in myself that I could overcome it.

What's your annoying habit? Aha if you ask people I'm really close to they would definitely say singing wherever I am lol. I'm not great at singing, I’d say I'm okay, but I must get on their nerves 24/7 haha.

Where would you like to visit? Definitely has to be New York at Christmas time. It just seems like such an amazing place and very unique at that time of year.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week? The most interesting thing I've read this week is the proposal of the European Super League and now some of the teams withdrawing from it such as Chelsea and Manchester City. I was so disappointed when I heard Chelsea were in the proposal as I'm a Chelsea fan but glad they are backing out now. I think it would ruin football as we know it.

What’s next for you? I have a few new songs I'm currently writing to at the moment. I've been sent 2 big features from an Artist called Mason J that is starting up a record label in America called Slums on God which I am on. That’s all I can currently say on that at the moment but big things are coming from me this year!
