We had the opportunity to talk with EZ Mak ahead of his battle with 2Complex on the 23rd of May at the Danygraig Labour Club in Treharris. EZ Mak is a Polish born rapper who now resides in Aberdare, South Wales Valleys. Mak is known for his introspective lyrics and his seamless flow changes. If you’re with EZ Mak on the 23rd, make sure to rep the EZ Team!
EZ Mak’s most recent track is ‘Real Memories’; an impactful, authentic track about the hustle and the past experiences who ‘try to steal energy’ from the current EZ Mak. You’ll notice that the song mentions the past experiences that both have hindered and shaped Mak on his journey through life and music. EZ Mak has never been afraid to show us the real him, and Real Memories showcases the very best of what Mak has to offer.
Here's how the interview went:
How are you feeling ahead of Battleground 2.0?
“I'm excited, it's been almost a decade since I had my last battle, which I managed to win 3-0. Win or lose I'm over the moon to be back and showcase some diversity.”
Have you seen anything from your opponent that has caught your eye?
“In all honesty and with all due respect I haven't really noticed anything that stands out to me which could be due to the fact I have not heard of 2Complex beforehand, I look forward to seeing what he brings though.”

What would you say are your opponents biggest strengths?
“His biggest strength would definitely be his experience. I've seen he's had his fair share of battles online.”
What would you say are your opponents biggest weaknesses?
“His main weakness I suppose would be not having battle experience in real life, I may be wrong but I haven't seen footage of him battling in person which could play a part as it can be a different environment and level of pressure when you’re face to face with an opponent.”
Why are YOU going to win this?
“Hard to answer this without giving too much away but I believe I'll win due to my approach to the battle, I am human though so I understand anything is possible and like I stated earlier, win or lose, I'm just excited to be back.”
Anyone you’d like to call out?
“There's no one I've got my sights on as of yet, I'm just focused on the battle I have coming up, I'm still making music and dealing with family life so I'm juggling a few things, always been more of an artist than a battler but I'm excited to see how it goes.”
We will see who reigns victorious on the 23rd.
