We had the chance to catch up with Vocab. Here's how it went:
How Long have you been rapping?
Since about 2005. I messed around a bit before that but from about 05 I'd say. I started off on Drum and Bass and used to go on pirate radio and stuff but I never really took it serious until about 08 maybe. That's when I started trying to write songs, so to speak, as opposed to bars.
What’s your favourite rap battle you have been involved in?
It would have to be Dekay, I was gonna knock it all on the head before it came along. I'd had enough but Don’t Flop offered me and I couldn’t refuse really. Was in Cardiff as well, took all my mates, we got smashed an I called Dekay a slag or whatever haha. Nar fair play she’s proper, and she gives as good as she gets.
Do you have a favourite punchline that you have used in one of your battles?
Not really, I'll only ever watch them back when I've had a few drinks or to put a little clip on insta or whatever, it makes me cringe to be honest so I don’t really remember half the stuff I've said coz as I say I barely re-watch them. I did like 1 of my rounds vs Jigster though where I expose him for biting a lyric.
Who is your favourite Battle Rapper?
I like loads, I'm more jokes over bars obviously, I like bars but I just always loved the funny side of battling more. Pedro is up there when he’s freestyling, says the most random stuff. Shuffle T and Marlo are class but my fav would have to be O’Shea, Legend.
What would be your dream collaboration?
Soooooo many . I'll have to put Ghetts top of the list coz for me he’s the best Britain has ever had! Any style, genre, concept, tempo, whatever, he smashes it and its always lyrical. His writings crazy. I listened to a lot of Jehst and Klashnekoff when I was younger so I'd have to say them as well.
How long does it usually take you to write your songs?
It varies as I rarely go into a writing session without having a song sort of planned, I might have a chorus ready or half a verse or voice notes full of bars to build on. Sometimes I've basically wrote it in my head and just like to put it onto paper so it's not lost or forgotten I'd say 2 hours on average. Although I've got loads that are unfinished from years ago. So anything from 2 hours to 5 years haha.

What do you like doing in your spare time?
Apart from the obvious family time... Football; literally all I love bar music and family. I'm not really into any other sports, just football. I'll sit down and watch almost any game, especially with a beer. German 2nd Division, English National League I don’t care. Can’t wait to play again.
Who is your celebrity crush?
Jessica Burciaga. If you don’t know look her up, no need to thank me.
What is your favourite movie and why?
I don’t watch many movies, never have really. I've seen Friday about 7000 times and How High. Me and my mates used to just get blazed and watch them sort of films. But I do like ones with a mad twist so I'll say 2. Shutter Island and Law Abiding Citizen.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
That's a tough question. I just do what I feel like. I like to think if you play my Spotify most songs sound different whether its Hip-Hop or Grime or Garage sort of vibes. Main thing I try do is keep the content and rhyming sharp and come with mad flows.
What plans have you got for 2021?
Release more and record more and just do more I've dropped a few bits in the last few months and just wanna build on that. I've got a bit ready to go, bits that need recording and beats to write to. I'll be doing a lot of collabs this year as well.
