We had the chance to ask Oliver Green some questions. Here's how it went:
How did you find out you were nominated for an award?
I never knew I was being nominated for the award. I had a call from BigMitch the morning it was announced and he told me to check Instagram. Was a big shock to me.
How does it feel to win the Fan’s Artist of the year Larynx Entertainment Award?
To know I won the award has given me self belief and fire to push this as far as I can take it. I am very grateful to Larynx and the people who voted.
Is there anything you would like to say about Larynx Entertainment?
I want to say a massive thank you to Larynx Entertainment from my first track release up until now, he has shared and supported my music and many other artists. He’s very professional and his page is full of talented artists and producers.
What song that you made is your favourite?
I don’t have a favourite track of mine as I have enjoyed making every track from the singles to the mix-tape. The process gives me a buzz more than releasing.
How did your journey with music start?
I have always had a love for music. I listened to music from a very young age and started writing music when I was in school, I was in a band which we performed live a few times but shortly after leaving school I stopped writing music but still continued listening daily. About 6 months ago I started writing and taking music serious. Always have and always will have a passion for music.
What music are your listening to lately?
At the moment I’m listening to Biggie, 50 cent and Ghetts, my main go to for music is 90’s to early 2000’s hip hop and r&b. The old grime scene music is a must also.
What inspires you most?
My son inspires me, he makes me want to strive to do better and make something of my life, and the people who support me. Also listening to music in general from the time I wake until I sleep.
How long does it usually take you to write your songs?
In regards to the pace of writing music some days I will write a couple tracks in a day and other times it will take me a few days to write 1 song.
What is your suggestions for the newcomers?
My suggestions for new comers is to stay positive and consistent and don’t let anyone dishearten you. I put a lot of work into my latest mix-tape and it never got the attention I thought it would but even so I enjoyed the entire process of creating the project so never give up. I enjoy the process of making music more than releasing it. If the love is truly there you will never give up.
How has the pandemic affected you?
For me the pandemic stopped me from going to concerts I would attend a few times a year and going to see family. Things still aren’t the same as they once were. I hope to have opportunities come my way to preform at venues or along those lines so fingers crossed that could turn into a reality for me going forward.
What’s next for you in 2022?
In 2022 I’m going to keep up the work rate and try and find other ways in getting my music out there to take it to the next level I also want to work with more artists and producers.
