Formless, from Newport, has released a track dedicated to his kids to express how he feels being away from them all the time while he’s trying to build a business. The track is titled Through The Rain. Check it out here:

We had the chance to catch up with Formless. Here's how it went:

Where was the Music Video filmed?

Brecon Beacons Four waterfalls walk.

Who produced the Music Video?

The music video was filmed by Jp7 "John Payne" my business partner and founder of Trinity Records, then the editing was done by myself "Formless Films".

How did your journey with music start?

It actually started a long time ago. Maybe 12-15 years ago in the era of Smokey's TV days. That Most definitely inspired me to become an artist, also sidewinder mixtapes had a big influence on my love for composing music. My mum and dad had an influence on my love for music but unfortunately due to my mental health, I took a step back after about 2 years and began to produce instrumentals, but again lack of confidence got in my way and I had a gap for about 10 years. I then finally picked up the pen again and here I am today.

What music are your listening to lately?

I listen to a lot of Liquid Drum and Bass, Garage and preferably old school Grime over the newer stuff. Depending on the mood I’m in but I do like to listen to old school hip-hop too, but literally I appreciate all music enjoy a bit of Club/Euphoria as well.

What is your favourite part of Music Production?

Passion is the main thing but I just love meeting new people and making friends now that I finally got my confidence back I can chase the things I love.

Have you ever experienced writers block? If so how did you overcome it?

Yes, many times, depends on the content of the lyrics, if it's something that relates to my life it's a lot easier and comes from the heart.

How long does it usually take you to write your songs?

Sometimes it can take days and other times weeks. I've had moments where I've finished full tracks in a few hours over at the studio with the boys.

If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?

That one really depends but I'd probably have to go with Tupac if he was still alive, but nowadays I’d probably say Dizzee Rascal or Wiley or Ghetts.

Which famous musicians do you admire?

Tupac, Coldplay, Wiley, Ghetts, Dizzee Rascal and Luther Vandross.

If you could have a super power what would it be?

Probably would be to fly. It would just be amazing to fly away whenever I could, also the power of reincarnation to bring back the ones I've lost.

What would be a good theme song for your life?

That's a difficult one to be quite honest. I couldn't really put a name on a theme song for my life but certain movie theme songs definitely remind me of the old days like Jurassic park, Mortal Kombat, Ghostbusters lol there's too many to mention.

What’s next for you?

Well the aim is to keep chasing my dreams and to become better at everything I do, so like filming, producing and being an artist.
