Elah Kram is a Welsh artist bringing funy beats and funky raps to the world. He's also making moves in other areas. Check his music out here:

We had a chat with Elah Kram about his music and upcoming projects:

How long have you been creating music for?

I've been writing since I was about 18 I think, I'm 37 now so it's been a good while. My bro King Louie has been producing music since the early 90's so we put some stuff down together probably in about 2006. Live gigs for a while then we finally got an album out last year.

What first got you into creating music?

My brother has always been creating beats since I can remember, my dad was rocking Marvin Gaye and the rest. I've always liked wordplay, hip-hop, history and a bit of folk music. So inspired I guess, I started writing verses for some reason, had a book full before I spoke one word aloud. After moving to Chester I saw a lot more of Louie again so we started putting some stuff together. Had a lot of fun freestyling with mates but then started to build tracks and gigging. All happened pretty naturally I think.

Which Welsh artist would you most like to collaborate with?

Mr Phormula

What is your favourite song to perform?

Rhyme beater is our best known and always fun but I like women on my mind, my boy Duncs guitar and singing is banging in that. Got a good message as well I think. Genuinely though it’s probably whichever one gets the crowd most hyped that night.

Have you ever experienced writers block? If so how did you overcome it?

I think everyone can struggle with it, get stuck in loops. I try not to force it, leave it for a bit and go back to just having fun freestyling and having a laugh. Great believer in inspiration finding you, don’t go chasing it or you'll end up frustrated. Mix up the musical genre, you know what I'm saying. If that fails, drink. That also works.

If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?

Jurassic 5 would be sick.

What’s coming for you in 2021?

Well covid dependent, we should be gigging again. Pushing our label Wooden house productions. We have a second Shirefunk album in the works. And I'm working on another project called Bards of the table, more folk funk beats with a live band. All is going well, make sure to check it all out. I also host a hiphop podcast called Shedsessions that you can find on spotify etc, so we will have a load more episodes of that coming out as well if people be interested. Cheers for having me.
