We had a chat with Cxmmi. Here's how it went:

Where was the Music Video filmed?

The music video was filmed in Pontypool valleys, situated on the side of a quarry.

Who produced the Music Video?

The video was recorded by my partner Nicole Martin and the video was edited by another music artist ADN from Bridgend as is all my music I’ve ever done.

What was the trigger point made you decide to get into music?

I got into music when I was 16 I struggle with anxiety & depression and music was my escape, instead of writing my problems on my arm I wrote them in a book with a pen, that led to my earlier music.

How long does it usually take you to write your songs?

A lot of my music is done freestyle. I listen back and pick the parts I like and I write the hook, all my music really comes from the heart and I feel it better to express how I feel on a beat than write it all down!

Can you remember the first time you wrote a song? Can you describe it for us?

My first song was written on a keyboard and it was not long after my first bad thoughts of ending it arouse. I felt I could express myself lyrically instead of hurting my myself physically.

What other talents do you have?

I started music throughout beatboxing, I became 3rd Welsh Champion in 2015 and from there it went on! Radio interviews etc. I was singing and beatboxing at the same time and some guy said “just try singing. It sounds dope!” And that put me where I am today, “shout out that guy”.

Which famous musicians do you admire?

I love Lil Peep, Juice WRLD, xxxtentation, Machine Gun Kelly, I love that sad vibe, I feel that stuff and love it, I can relate!

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Best advice I’ve been given, “you can’t do it”. When someone tells me “you can’t do something” I will do everything you in my power to prove them wrong, my beatboxing, singing my rapping, you’d get people say “it was stupid” and “I couldn’t do it”, now I get 100’s of listens monthly all around the world!

What’s next for you in 2021?

What does 2021 hold, this year is going to be full of ups, you’re going to hear a lot more music, more frequently and also a lot of collaborations with other artists! I’m ever excited to see what’s in store!
