Cujo - Gone Away

Cujo has released a new tune titled Gone Away. Check it out below:

We caught up with Cujo for a quick chat. Here's how it went:

How did the journey with music start?

I used to mess around back in 2013 in college, my friend GODz invited me into a group with Conrad Lott, Kraftee, Chrxn and Tom Austin. We would just shout each other out and I recorded my first tune in 2014.

Are all of your songs about your real feelings and actual things that happened in your life or are some of them just made up?

Most of my songs reflect how I feel, when I recorded some songs I use to exaggerate, but then as life went on I slipped deeper into the situations I was talking about until it became a reality.

Can you remember the first time you wrote a song? Describe it to me.

My first track I wrote was 'Past Tense' which I used to perform first at all of my gigs as u remember haha. I changed it to the pound cake instrumental and tweaked the lyrics over time but yeah love that tune.

What is your creative process like?

My creative process is all messed up. I usually write the most when I’m hungover or after smoking a bit, nothing special.

Which famous musicians do you admire?

Always been a long-time fan of Drake, also Yung lean, love his style.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

Never compare yourself to anyone but yourself. Trying to become better than someone else and not want them to strive is bitter and I learnt that.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Still been waiting to link up with Luke RV and Conrad Lott but the time will come for that. Lucky to have worked with a lot of artists over the last few years.

What's next for you in 2021? After this release, I’m looking to create more visuals for my work. I think about music videos often, but never had the drive to get up and go.
