Big Mitch, from Barry, has released a new track called On The Otherside. We like this new track, which was produced by @3lackondabeat and Mixed & Mastered By @J7Producer. Check it out here:
We had the chance to ask Big Mitch some questions. Here's how it went:
How did your journey with music start?
Music has always been in my blood but I’d say the journey started at a young age. I taught myself to play guitar and piano at about 12-13 years old and then went on to win a poem competition in my school that was published so that was it for me, I then went onto writing songs and melodies and the rest is history.
What song that you made is your favourite?
That’s a tricky question, I’m sitting on my best music so it’s hard to say but I’d have to probably say “Different Person” or my latest drop “On The Otherside”, but the rest is to come, I’m just warming up.
What music are you listening to lately?
I’m going through a 90s RnB phase but I’m also listening to a lot of deep pain story tellers.
What inspires you most?
I am inspired by good vibes and good energy. Also the love and feedback I get keeps me going and also just music in general inspires me most, I wake up to music playing and I go to sleep with music playing.
How long does it usually take you to write a song?
It depends on the vibe and the energy at the time but on average I’d say half hour to an hour. I mostly wrote hooks and then add the verses later on but it varies.
What is your suggestion for the newcomers?
Don’t be afraid to do something different and surround yourself with people that motivate and inspire you.
What is your favourite song to perform and why?
I’d have to probably say “Shine” the energy I had off the crowd when I performed this last was crazy! Everybody knew the words so ye I’d have to go with that one.
Which famous musician do you admire?
There’s too many but to mention a few I’d have to go with Drake, Young Adz and M1llionz.
What is the best advise you’ve been given?
Keep your circle small and surround your self with people that are motivating you.
How has the pandemic affected you?
It effected me in a lot of ways. Just before lock down I was getting bookings and was also hitting studio everyday but that was all put on hold for 2 years so yeah it definitely effected me for sure.
What do you think of the pandemic?
It’s been a crazy experience that’s what I think. I just hope it’s over with soon so we can all start getting back to business.
What’s next for you in 2022?
2022 for me is about networking, dropping consistent bangers, getting myself out there as an artist and plenty of features. I might just drop a mixtape at some point.
